As dramatic Autumn colours and shorter day length signal seasonal change, make the most of your garden by providing some much-needed cheer to those endless dull, dank days which inevitably lie ahead.
Move pots of seasonal bulbs and bedding around or evergreen shrubs and grasses, to create little splashes of colour or interest which can temporarily fill the blank spaces left by dormant herbaceous plants.

Evergreen shrubs and trees also help to maintain interest and structure to the garden, long after the vibrant deciduous Summer and Autumn leaves and flower heads have disappeared. Why not retain seed heads– attractive in their own right but also providing food for hungry wildlife, during the leaner months.
