Decking and step area upgrade

• Western Red Cedar Slats for the screening.
• Porcelain Tiles for the floor, steps and cladding.

The existing decked and stepped area was in need of renovation. The rendered surfaces had degraded over time and the clients were looking for a contemporary solution to link with the rest of the garden.

After consultation the clients settled on a Porcelain tiled finish with a Western Red Cedar screen for the supporting wall.

The alignment of the surfacing was governed by the size of the Porcelain tiles (1200mm x 600mm). The client wanted clean and simple lines, this governed the configuration of the steps which linked to the patio surface.

The Western Red Cedar Screen was constructed using single lengths of timber to avoid any unnecessary joints. The overall appearance complemented the clean and simple of the tiles.

The appearance of the completed project linked well with the rest of the existing garden.
